On the evening of 15 July 2026, Fergie, a 13-year-old French Bulldog, was given a Pup Ice Rocket Lolly. By 4:34 the next morning she was at an emergency hospital in Frisco, Texas, with the treat lodged in her esophagus near the base of her heart. On 4 September the insurer for the treat's US distributor, Ethical Products, Inc., denied her claim in a letter whose only reasoning is that its insured “is not liable for any damages claimed.” Her owner says she was told why: there had been no previous claims, and the treat was expired.

A fair reading
The US package is not a weaker label than any other package we could find; its warning block is the brand's global 2023 template, and US waffle cones carry an extra choking warning that no UK or EU source shows. No jurisdiction requires the warnings the UK site added. There is no recall, no regulator action, and no lawsuit over a pet injury on record.
